Goldmills are currently recruiting a skilled Head Pastry Chef to join our client which is a 5* Hotel & Spa in the Cotswolds. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and creating delicious pastries. This role involves preparing a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods in a professional kitchen environment.
Duties:
Manage a large operation of Pastry Chefs with a hands on approach.
- Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, including cakes, cookies, pies, and bread
- Decorate pastries using icing, glazes, and other toppings
- Ensure all food preparation meets quality standards
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications
- Monitor food stock and place orders when needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or relevant role
- Knowledge of baking techniques and pastry ingredients
- Understanding of food safety practices
- Culinary or pastry arts degree is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong attention to detail and creativity in pastry decoration
- Experience working in a restaurant or commercial kitchen setting
